The Wenham Tea House (www.wenhamteahouse.com) is the newest venture from the Keohane family, the ones behind local successes Henry’s Fine Foods, Henry’s Wine Cellar and the DogSpa.
The Wenham Tea House is one of the North Shore’s premiere breakfast and lunch restaurants North of Boston on the gold cost of the North Shore. But what makes the Wenham Tea House so special? It’s their attention to detail.
When you walk into the Wenham Tea House, you quickly realize why it is one of the best breakfast places on the North Shore, if not in all of Massachusetts. The atmosphere is right out of a Robert Frost poem…a warm fireplace greets you as you look onto one of the most beautiful dining rooms complete with white linens and fine china.
The hostess seats you and you are welcomed to delicious water infusion selections. What is this? The Wenham Tea House infuses their own water according to the seasons. Cucumber mint in the summer, Cranberry and Cinnamon in the fall. How lovely.
Perusing the menu, it is quickly noticed that the Wenham Tea House prides itself on a traditional New England breakfast. The Chef, Peter Capalbo, is from one of North Shore’s former best brunch places, Tryst of Beverly. You can see the Tea House menu takes a nod at the former Tryst brunch menu, but has a lot more to offer now.
The fabulous french toast, the corned beef hash, the bananas foster….everything is made from scratch, and you can tell the difference. The prices ranges from $5-$14, making this venue quite reasonable. Their Tea House Bloody Mary was about as perfect of a Bloody Mary as you can get.
